FAQ

What is SW Tools?

SW Tools is a free hub of private file tools. They run in your browser. Your files stay on your computer.

Do you upload my files?

No. There is no file-upload API for these tools. The file is read in your browser tab. We do not receive the contents.

What does client-side mean?

Client-side means the work happens on your device. The website sends code to your browser. Your browser uses that code on the file you picked.

Do I need an account?

No. Open a tool and use it. Free tools do not require a login.

Is SW Tools free?

Yes. Core tools are free with no watermark. Optional Pro is a one-time license. Free tools still work without it.

How do I use these tools from Cursor or Claude?

Use the local MCP hub. Setup is at https://tools.sw-commercial.com/mcp. The hub runs on your computer. It does not upload files to us.

Is there a Chrome extension?

Yes. SW Toolbox is on the Chrome Web Store. Right-click an image on any page — including Google Images — to compress, convert to JPG/PNG/WebP, resize, decode HEIC, or strip EXIF. Right-click a PDF link to split pages, or selected text for a QR PNG. You choose where to save. The page is not replaced. Install: https://tools.sw-commercial.com/chrome

Who makes SW Tools?

Simon Wong writes the how-tos for SW Commercial. SW Business publishes SW Tools at https://tools.sw-commercial.com. The parent catalog is https://sw-commercial.com.
