This policy covers SW Tools at tools.sw-commercial.com and the SW Toolbox browser extension (Chrome Web Store item). Both are made by SW Commercial. Your files never leave your device.
SW Toolbox browser extension
SW Toolbox processes files you choose (images, PDFs, QR text, JSON/CSV, colors) entirely on your device. There is no SW Toolbox server, no account, and no file-upload API. Bytes you open in the extension are decoded and re-encoded in memory, then saved with the browser download manager. They are never transmitted to us.
What the extension can access
- A right-clicked image, only when you pick a SW Toolbox menu item. The
activeTabpermission lets the extension fetch that image for that click only. It does not read page text, history, passwords, or other tabs, and it has no standing access to websites. - Options and Agent prefs (compress defaults, MCP group toggles, optional Pro key) stored in
chrome.storage.localon your computer. These stay on the device. - Optional local MCP hub. If you click Start hub, the extension talks to a native-messaging host you install on this computer and to
http://127.0.0.1:17321(health and stop only). That process never sends your files to us.
What we do not collect
- No analytics, telemetry, advertising SDKs, or tracking pixels.
- No sale or sharing of personal data. We do not receive your files.
- No remote code. Scripts and the bundled HEIC WebAssembly ship inside the extension package.
- No license API on our servers. Optional Pro checkout opens Polar in a normal browser tab that you choose to visit. Optional tips open Buy me a coffee. We do not call a Polar validate API. The only extra network the extension may use is loopback

Permissions (Chrome)
Declared permissions are contextMenus, offscreen, activeTab, downloads, storage, and nativeMessaging. Host permission is only http://127.0.0.1:17321/* for the local Agent hub. None of these send file contents off your device.
SW Toolbox MCP companion
The optional local program sw-toolbox-mcp can be started by Cursor or Claude (stdio), or by the SW Toolbox Agent panel after you install a native-messaging host once. It reads and writes local file paths you pass to the tools. It does not upload files to us. serve mode binds only to 127.0.0.1 for MCP, health, and shutdown. Setup: tools.sw-commercial.com/mcp.

The same client-side model applies to tools on this site: conversion, compression, and PDF edits run in your browser tab. We do not operate a file-processing backend for those tools.
- Server logs. The host or CDN may record standard request metadata (IP address, user agent, URL, timestamps) to operate and secure the site.
- Analytics (optional). If enabled, we may use cookieless analytics (for example Plausible) for aggregate page views. It does not use advertising cookies.
- Advertising (optional). If Google AdSense is enabled on the website, Google may use cookies or similar technologies to serve ads, including limited ads where required. This does not apply to the SW Toolbox extension, which has no ads.
FAQ
How is Pro sold?
SW Toolbox Pro is a one-time license sold on Polar. You paste the SW-TBX- key in the Agent tab. We do not run a license server.
Does the MCP hub send files to SW Commercial?
No. The hub runs on your computer. It reads local paths you pass to the tools.
Children
These products are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page before a matching product update ships. The core promise will not: your files stay on your device.
