PNG to JPG when a form refuses PNG

Portals still list JPG only. A screenshot saved as PNG will fail that check. This page decodes with createImageBitmap and writes JPEG from a canvas in your tab. The quality slider defaults to 92% and only exists because JPEG is lossy — PNG encode on the sibling page has no slider.

JPEG has no alpha. Empty canvas pixels are transparent black, so a hole in a logo usually becomes black in the download. Check the preview before you send it. If you needed a smaller file rather than a different container, that is Compress image, not this converter.

Do not run a camera JPEG that was merely saved as PNG through this page as a ritual. You add a generation of artifacts for no gain. Convert graphics that actually started as PNG. Old format-twin compressor URLs are unrelated — they 301 into Compress image.

What happens to transparent pixels when I convert PNG to JPG?
JPEG has no alpha channel. This page draws the PNG onto a canvas and encodes JPEG at your quality (default 92%). Empty canvas pixels are transparent black, so holes in a logo usually become black in the JPG — check the preview before you send it to a portal.
When should I use PNG to JPG instead of Compress image?
Use this page when the destination refuses PNG and you need a JPEG container. Use Compress image when the form has a KB cap — that tool searches quality or downscales. Converting here does not target a file size.
Should I convert a photo that is already a JPEG saved as PNG?
No. You add a generation of JPEG artifacts for no gain. Convert screenshots, UI chrome, and graphics that actually started as PNG. Camera photos that were PNG-wrapped JPEGs should stay on the Compress image JPEG tab.
Is the conversion uploaded?
