WebP to JPG for software that still will not open WebP

The browser can preview WebP. The destination often cannot: older Windows viewers, some printer drivers, CMS fields that still list JPEG. This page decodes the WebP locally and writes JPEG at your quality (default 92%). Look at faces and type before you drop the slider.

A photographic WebP should stay JPEG here. Sending it to WebP to PNG only inflates the file. A logo with a hole is the opposite job — JPEG cannot store alpha, so that still belongs on WebP to PNG.

Nothing is uploaded. This is not a target-size compressor. If the form also has a KB cap, convert here if they refuse WebP, then Compress image.

How to use WebP to JPG

  1. 1Add WebP stills.
  2. 2Optionally adjust JPEG quality (default 92%). Look at faces and type before you drop it.
  3. 3Click “Convert to JPG” for a still older apps will open.
  4. 4Download the JPEGs. Logos with a hole belong on WebP to PNG instead.

WebP to JPG FAQ

Why convert WebP to JPG instead of PNG?
Older Windows apps and some CMS fields still reject WebP. JPG is the compatibility still for photographs. PNG here would only inflate a camera image. If the WebP is a logo with a hole, use WebP to PNG instead — JPEG cannot store that hole.
What does the quality slider do on this page?
It is the JPEG encoder quality, default 92%. Lower it only after you look at faces and type in the preview. This is not a target-KB compressor; Compress image is that job.
My browser previewed the WebP. Why convert?
The browser can decode WebP; the destination often cannot. Convert when you will attach the file to email, a printer driver, or a form that lists JPEG only.
Is the WebP uploaded to convert it?
No. createImageBitmap reads it locally and the canvas writes JPEG in this tab.
