Split a PDF in the tab so the rest of the pack never leaves the machine

Scanner defaults dump a cover letter, an ID, and a statement into one file. Portals want a range. Extract mode parses a spec like 1-3, 5 (1-based, commas and ranges) and copies those pages with pdf-lib. Footer page numbers are not always file page numbers — look at the file, then type the spec.

Each-page mode downloads one PDF per page. The browser may ask to allow multiple files. Split is not redaction: pages you keep still show what was on them.

An open-password file fails here the same way merge does. We do not take the packet off the device.

What does a page spec like 1-3, 5 mean?
Extract mode parses comma-separated pages and ranges, 1-based, then writes one new PDF in that order. Duplicates are dropped. Numbers outside the file are ignored. Footer page numbers are not always file page numbers — look at the file first.
What is Each page mode?
It downloads one single-page PDF per page. The browser may ask once for permission to save multiple files. That is your browser, not an upload.
Is split the same as redaction?
No. Pages you keep still show what was on them. Hidden text and annotations on a kept page remain. If you needed to black out a line, that is a different product.
Does the rest of the PDF leave the device?
No. pdf-lib copies the pages you asked for in this tab. The original file is not sent anywhere.
